Arpit Goel
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Root

Long bio
Arpit Goel is the founder and chief executive officer of Root, the instant bank-to-bank payments platform. Root connects directly to a business's own bank accounts, so payouts and payments move from sender to recipient in about five seconds, on any day and at any hour. Arpit started Root after reviewing payroll companies' public filings as an angel investor and seeing how much of the industry's margin comes from money left waiting in transit.

Before Root, Arpit founded Gamma, an AI-powered cloud data security company that Palo Alto Networks acquired in 2021 to form the core of its Next-Gen CASB product. He then served as vice president of product for Next-Gen CASB at Palo Alto Networks. Arpit holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from IIT Delhi and a PhD from Stanford University, and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
